Intermediate Challenge
Materials: Worsted weight pink, rose, white and yellow
Size F and G aluminum crochet hooks
Finished size: Approx. 7 inches
Notes: I worked flowers with the F hook and square with the G hook.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Beg pc (beginning popcorn stitch): ch 3, 2 dc in ring, slip loop off hook, insert in 3rd st of beginning
ch and pull through. Sc to hold stitch in place.
Pc (popcorn stitch): 3 dc, slip loop off hook, insert in top of first dc and pull through. Sc to hold st in
place.
P (picot): Ch 3, sl st in top of last st made or in third st from hook.
DIRECTIONS:
With yellow, ch 4 and join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Beg pc, ch 3, *(pc, ch 3) 3 times, sl st in beg ch 3 to join. Finish off and weave in ends. (4 pc
and 4 ch 3 spaces)
Rnd 2: Attach rose in any ch 3 sp. *(ch 3, dc, p, ch 3, sc in same sp, sc in next ch 3 sp) Repeat from
* 3 times ending with sl st in first sc. (8 petals)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in ch 3 sp from rnd 1 (in between base of ch 3 and dc ofround 2); ch 3, sc in next ch
3 sp from rnd 1 around. Join with sl st in first sc. (8 ch 3 spaces) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 4: Attach light pink in any ch 2 sp. (Sc, hdc, dc, trc, p, dc, hdc, sc) in each ch 3 space around.
Join with sl st to first sc. (8 petals)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in ch 3 sp from rnd 3 (in between base of dc and trc of round 4); ch 4, sc in next ch
3 space from rnd 3 around. Join with a sl st to first sc. (8 ch 4 spaces).
Rnd 6: Sl st to ch 4 sp. Ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc in next ch 4 sp. *(ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc in
next ch 4 sp) Repeat from * around. Join to first sc. (16 ch 3 spaces.) Finish off. Weave in ends.
Rnd 7: Attach rose to any ch 3 loop. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1 in same ch 3 loop. First corner
made. * (one pc in next ch 3 loop, ch 1) 3 times. (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch 3 loop (corner made).
Ch 1* Repeat from * to * around. Finish off weave in ends.
Rnd 8: Attach white in any corner ch 2 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1 *(pc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1)
4 times. (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1) in next corder ch 1 sp.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a slo
st in top of ch 3. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 9: Attach pink in any corner ch 1 sp. Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in in corner space. *(dc in each st to
next corner ch 1 sp. 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same space) Repeat from * around ending with sl st to 3rd st
of first ch 3. Finish off, weave in ends.
Rnd 10: Attach rose in any corner space. Ch 1, 3 sc in same space. Sc in each st around with ch 3 in
each corner space. Join with a sl st to first sc. Finish off, weave in ends.
