Holding both cottons together

Chain 20

Row 1) hdc in third chain from hook and next 17 stitches, turn: 18 hdc

Row 2 - 14) ch 2, hdc in first st, * hdc in next st; repeat from * across, turn: 18 hdc.

End weaving in all ends.

Edging: Using blue only

Join in corner of hotpad

Ch 1, sc in same st, sc across working 16 sc, 2 sc in corner.

working down hotpad sc evenly 16 times, 2 sc in corner, sc across working 16 sc, 2 sc in corner, work up last row evenly 16 times, join in ch 1: 72 sc.

end weaving in all ends.
